The UN has 17 climate goals which you can read more about by clicking here. We aim to be a part of reaching all 17 of these goals.
1. No Poverty:
We are creating equal access housing and workplaces that provide basic resources, allowing those in poverty to raise their baseline. We are also creating healthy, safe, accessible jobs with a part of an EOT. Additionally, we aim to provide space in our microfactories for community members to create and sell their own upgrades and customizer panels.
2. Zero Hunger:
We have developed an automated food growing system that can supplement local farm production or be a main source of food while being easily maintained on site without additional shipments.
3. Good health and well-being:
Our designs are non-toxic and have an active air filter, are designed to be easy to clean (especially for those with mental health impairments), are designed to be accessible for multiple physical impairments, and we are attempting to eliminate microplastics in the drinkable water. Additionally, our systems can be used as off-grid mobile clinics in areas without readily available healthcare.
4. Quality education:
We intend to set up educational internships and our systems can be used as mobile, off-grid classrooms that can provide education where it is needed.
5. Gender equality:
We intend to set up women-led educational internships to help young women and girls learn and feel comfortable in an engineering/manufacturing environment. By providing equal access jobs that include childcare, we have already hired women who could not work otherwise. Additionally, our design is body type inclusive which means simple things inside our homes and workplaces are designed to be easier to use for everyone. We are also pushing to create an anatomically correct female crash dummy.
6. Clean water and sanitation:
Our systems include water sanitation and the ability to carry water from far away. We have also developed a composting toilet which creates finished, safe soil and a multistage biofilter to ensure grey water is properly treated in house. Due to our dedication to the right to repair, plans to replace and repair systems and filters indefinitely will be included.
7. Affordable and clean energy:
We have developed a hyper efficient modular and integrated energy system which includes several sources of power generation and therefore will always be able to produce and store power. It also includes options for integrated, hyper efficient appliances.
8. Decent work and economic growth:
Our entire manufacturing process, which we hope to vertically integrate for sustainability purposes, has healthy and accessible jobs at its core. We aim to use microfactories, which will be non-toxic, regenerative, and will take into account the psycology of space. We have also come up with a new way to employ those who are physically or mentally impaired. Many of our jobs will be creative rather than menial.
9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure:
Our approach focuses on sustainable innovation and building resilient infrastructure. By emphasizing modularity and repairability, we aim to reduce waste and improve efficiency across industries while fostering local production through microfactories.
10. Reduced inequality:
The systems at the core of our design are the same for any user, ensuring that everyone—regardless of their socio-economic background—has equal access to their basic needs. By providing identical, high-quality systems to all, we reduce the stigma and inequality often associated with differentiated access. This approach fosters equity and creates a shared standard of living, enabling the most vulnerable to benefit from the same resilience tools as the most privileged.
11. Sustainable cities and developments:
LightForm villages provide sustainable solutions for urban and rural areas alike, promoting efficient resource use and fostering interconnected, resilient communities.
12. Responsible consumption and production:
All of our materials are recyclable, reusable, or biodegradable. We are close to eliminating plastics from our designs and are developing a natural insulation that can consume plastic waste during production. This insulation will then be converted into usable batts for our specialized wall panels.
13. Climate action:
Our primary mission is threefold: protect from current disasters, adapt to ongoing changes, and regenerate ecosystems for a healthier planet.
14. Life below water:
We are striving to eliminate plastics from our designs entirely. Achieving this goal will reduce microplastic pollution in marine ecosystems, supporting healthier aquatic life.
15. Life on land:
Our systems contribute to land regeneration through bioremediation, compost production, carbon sequestration, and functioning as swales to manage water flow and support local ecosystems.
16. Peace, justice and strong institutions:
By addressing the basic needs of the most vulnerable, we reduce the risks they face when forced into dangerous situations to secure food, water, and shelter. Providing stable solutions serves as a stepping stone toward a more just and peaceful society.
17. Partnerships:
We are working with the Scottish government and intend to build relationships with the UN and governments around the world. We want to do our part to promote sustainable development in countries around the world by helping provide more sustainable solutions that reduce the carbon footprint of the biggest polluters AND protect those who are most impacted by the disasters already happening.
